As part of our award winning Dry Eye service, we offer a variety of eyelid cleansing treatments. ZEST (Zocular Eyelid System Technology) is a quick and effective in-practice treatment for the eyelids, designed for relief from dry eyes and blepharitis.

leading cause of evaporative dry eye causing irritation, burning and watering of the eyes.
As these conditions progress, there is a build up of debris, oils and bacteria along the lash line, this is known as a biofilm. As this biofilm worsens, so too does inflammation around the lids which causes symptoms of dry eye to increase.
This Zokrex technology has been designed for deep cleansing of the eyelids. This quick treatment uses a very gentle exfoliation of the meibomian glands and eyelashes to remove the biofilm, debris, excess skin and mites. This results in reduced inflammation and a more balanced tear film.

How does ZEST work?
ZEST takes a natural, plant based approach by using a cleansing gel derived from fresh Okra. This gel is applied and massaged into the eyelids using specialised applicators known as Zocuswabs which lift the unwanted material from the margins. The eyelids are then rinsed using saline solution which results in long lasting soothed and clean eyelids.
Why is it effective?
Okra is a plant containing sugars antioxidants and a blend of vitamins and is beneficial in reducing cell damage, and for its anti inflammatory properties. Additionally, moisture retention properties are effective in supporting the tears on the ocular surface.
Not only does this provide almost instant results with the eyelids feeling soothed and cleansed, but it also ensures longer lasting relief from dry eye symptoms, and long term improvements to eyelid and gland function.
